Citizens have an important role to play in the development and functioning of our city. Interested, informed and engaged citizens provide the knowledge, experience and sanction that politicians need to manage city services.
a. Set up Council committees on recreation, poverty and Aboriginal relations with a transparent process for membership and links to City decision-making.
b. Inform and genuinely consult residents on new developments. This may be achieved through allowing for participation of formalized residents groups in Community Committee decision-making.
